COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- Discuss the technological advances for the treatment of patients with head and neck cancer.
- Outline the protocols for managing complications of radiation therapy.
- Explain options for maxillo-mandibular reconstruction and functional restoration of occlusion.
- Describe advanced orbital reconstruction using 3-D computer planning, intraoperative navigation and intraoperative imaging.
- Discuss endoscopic approaches to the orbit and anterior skull base, management of optic nerve compression and custom implants for reconstruction.
- Analyze the use of new devices and computer-assisted planning for congenital and developmental deformities.
- Describe the use of computer-assisted surgical simulation for the treatment of facial asymmetry.
- Demonstrate computer planning and intraoperative navigation in a hands-on workshop.
